Working from home is a dream for many people. Flexible time, a work-life balance, no commutes and a workplace literally just a few feet away.. Oh, how it all sounds so Fantastic.

If you have decided to leave your traditional work and start this path as a Virtual Assistant this blog is for you. Let´s boost your motivation and make your dreams come true.

The first thing you must know is that if you want to  achieve  a dream,  you must  work for it,  it’s not only the motivation, you must take action.

Something that I have learned during these years is that  on the road to achieving your dreams you must apply decision and discipline,  but more importantly consistency, because  without commitment you will never start but without consistency you will never finish.

The difference between a dreamer and someone who someone who fulfilled their dreams, it’s not the goal is the system that they have  created to make it work.

Think it in this way, Everyone want to have  success, a better job, a better life,; the goal is the same for everyone , but the thing is that  not everyone achieve this goal, not everyone is really fit for it. The ones that fit for it are the ones that make another step. They don’t stay in the dream they start taking action and make it work

Yes, You can dream everyday  about your awesome new life as a latino virtual assistant but the lesson here is that you have to make it work

To make it work you must now, that like any other thing, working at home has its pros and its cons. It may sound trouble-free, but making it work depends greatly on what kind of an individual you are. You are a dreamer or you are a creator?

Now, if you’re one of the thousands who decided to make life easier and started your work from home and want to make it work , here are some tips that might help you adjust faster and guide you to slowly embrace the change.

Stick to a daily timetable.

Though working from home gives you more choices of what tasks you want to do first or when you’re going to do them, it’s best that you still follow a daily timetable to keep yourself organized and avoid working “out of office hours”. Work-life balance is still important! Don’t let your unfinished tasks take up your personal time too. Use management tools like Google Calendar to keep track of your tasks, schedule, meetings, or deadlines.

Assign a designated working area.

Stay away from bed! It might be tempting, but for you to last your entire day without procrastinating, a designated space for your working area is essential to keep your productivity and energy at bay. Your room should be free from distractions, and if possible, let in some natural light (or if you’re working at night, keep it well-lit).

Be equipped!

You’d want to work as smoothly and as comfortably when at home. A well-performing computer and a high-speed internet are on the top of your priorities. Set up a desk and make sure you have all the basics like a noise-canceling headset for when you need to do calls with your team, and an ergonomic chair to keep yourself from having back pains.

Stay Healthy.

Yes, you can binge-watch and stay up all night/all day, and yes, you can eat whatever and whenever you want. But keep in mind, sleep and a healthy diet is still essential for you to stay productive and focused when at work. Have a good balance

And give your body the necessary amount of rest and nutrition to keep you healthy and happy. Regular exercises might also do the trick!

Embrace the Change.

Bring home your on-site work routine and values and treat this change in setting as how you would treat your previous job. Have that willingness to do things differently and don’t hesitate to ask help to make improvements. Always remember ou may be working at home alone, but an entire team and support system is still standing by you (or if I may say, sitting), virtually!
