Creating a work-life balance is not easy to accomplish. It’s even an impossible goal for many. We often ask ourselves, how do we create a work-life balance? It sounds simple but it’s a big challenge for most entrepreneurs and professionals.

Working all day and being productive it´s important, more in our times, when money and success seem to be the number one priority. But beyond that, the world is changing to a more conscious way of living. People are understanding that work is not everything and that developed personal growth and taking care of themselves it´s an investment that they should start as soon as possible.

Work-life balance is one of the keys to success in developing your career, obtaining a healthy lifestyle, and creating a sense of harmony between your professional and personal life. When I started my Virtual assistant journey one of my number one motivation was having harmony between my professional and personal life.

Working from home is without a doubt very convenient for achieving this perfect balance between being productive, working, and taking care of your body and mind: you have your own time, can come and go as you please, can have morning routines, take care of your family without stop working and leave far away from cities. And if you plan it well, it can be quite the same as a job for an office but with much more benefits.

The thing is, at the beginning, I had to understand that getting used to working remotely does not mean that you’ll perfect your work-life balance at once. You have to consider several aspects of life and work to achieve the desired peace… If I had known this when I started working from home, It would have had a better start!! That’s why I decided to write this article on how to create a work-life balance as a bilingual virtual assistant.

Even though It’s important to find what works best for you as an individual rather than trying to follow someone else’s plan. Here are some tips on how to create work-life balance:

1)  Know what your priorities

You have to establish what work-life balance means to you, Be honest about your priorities/needs/desires/goals/wants/etc., whatever they may be at any given moment or situation in time or place or space or circumstance (you get my point).

2)  Get a quiet workplace

Make sure that you have your own working space and not a commonly used space in your house. You have to avoid any distractions. Create a working environment that is aligned with your working dynamic.

3)      Wake –up ahead of time

It will be more productive if you take the time you need before the workday starts to maximize success later in the day. Shower, eat your breakfast, or exercise. Make sure your body is ready for your tasks, not only will it increase your productivity but you’ll feel good throughout the day.

4)  Take breaks

Of course, we can’t just work and work throughout the day. Stretch those legs and arms, and eat with your family. Do self-care for motivation. Never forget to take care of yourself while you’re taking care of the business.

5)      Mark the end of the day

Once you were able to finish your tasks according to the structure and timetable that you’ve set for yourself, it’s time for you to call the day. Transition out gracefully, double-check if all the things that need to be done have been completed, send your end-of-day report, and Voila you are good to go.
